Eugenia Gold
Rush
Held during the
first weekend in
July, this
annual event
commemorates the
3-week gold rush
when over
200
men came to
Eugenia Falls to
strike their
fortune in gold
- only to
discover it was
iron pyrite or
fool's gold.

The local event
has become quite
well-known in
the area and is
a great way to
spend a day with
the kids.
There
are plenty of
activities for
families
including:
panning for
gold; where
participants try
to win a $100
gold nugget, and
two $50 gold
nuggets. There
is also a
fishing derby
in Lake Eugenia,
where visitors
and residents
compete to win
the
title of the
largest catch
and a monetary
prize.

Children's
activities
include covered
wagon rides,
face painting, a
duck race, a
magician, and
live musical
entertainment.
There is a bit
of fun for
everyone young
and old with
antique cars and
farm equipment,
live music,
wagon races,
demonstrations,
Prospector's
Breakfast, BBQ
Rib Dinner, Beer
Tent, and a
Dance into the
evening.
